Erythromycin 500 mg qid for 10 days, chlorhexidine 4% solution once daily, and mupirocin 2% ointment tid.

Repeat cultures from the anus and umbilicus only showed normal skin flora. Clinical resolution was achieved.

Hospitalization, iv penicillin, phenoxymethylpenicillin (mega-cillin) 1.5 mg po tid for 10 days.

The patient had Crohn's disease; she received

infliximab iv every 6 weeks, prednisolone 10 mg po daily, and diclofenac po prn. Clinical resolution was achieved.

Hospitalization, phenoxymethylpenicillin (Isocillin) 1.2 mg po tid for 10 days, benzylpenicillin 10 mg iv tid for 10 more days, discharged with cefaclor 500 mg po tid for 5 days.

The patient initially did not improve on phenoxymethylpenicillin and was switched to benzylpenicillin. Clinical resolution was achieved.
