Emerging Infectious Disease (EID) ★ ★

The Center for Disease Control in Atlanta currently has two periodical publications on the Web.

Emerging Infectious Disease (EID) is an electronic periodical which is easily and freely accessed. The contents "intended for professionals in infectious diseases and related sciences" some of the information is highly relevent to dermatology. Students and dermatologists will both find useful material at this site.

Access is free and easy. There is no special use of the electronic medium.

MMWR

Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report is also housed at this site. In current form, it is a document which is transferred from paper to computer screen. Abstracts (termed prieviews) are available for reading but the full text cannot be read directly with Mosaic or Netscape browsers, and needs to be downloaded and then viewed with the Adobe(TM) Acrobat(TM) Reader. That extra step makes this useful information harder to access.
