VITAMIN K CREAM

Does anyone know where I can get vitamin K cream?  I have a patient that
wants to try it and I remember receiving a flyer about it it the last year,
but I no longer have that flyer.   Our local pharmacist, who usually loves to
compound things, doesn't have a clue as to where to begin.  Any ideas?

You can try making it yourself.  2 ampules of phytomenadione mix with cetyl
base or vanishing cream to make 30 grams.

I have seen ads for a Vit K cream in The Cosmetic Dermatology Journal but
have no experience personally.  In that Journals Dec. 95 issue, there is an
article re: the use of Vit K topically.

Does vit k cream really work for senile or solar purpura? for post surgical
ecchymoses?  Can anyone remember the name of the commercially available product?

As far as i know it is anecdotal.  I don't believe there is an FDA approved
product.

I have tried a vitamin K cream on a number of patients with no success
whatsoever; no one had anything positive to say and no one returned to
purchase a second jar.  I would be happy to provide, at cost, my leftovers to
anyone more enthusiastic than I.
