You can and will get many, well-substantiated claims about the best therapy in this setting. I would add that no matter who gives you advice here, it is really incumbent upon the physician to go out and read through the published literature on these various therapies in detail: there is no way that a brief list posting can give you adequate information to make a complex decision like this. Having said that, I'll still offer an off the cuff opinion: how about alpha interferon and/or etretinate and/or PUVA? I'll be very curious to see what the group consensus will be. ========== From: KSmithDerm@aol.com Recently MF has been shown to be associated with HTLV-1 infection by PCR in almost all cases [The cutaneous T cell lymphoma, Mycosis Fungoides, is a human T cell lymphotropic virus-associated disease, Pancake et al, J Clin Invest Feb 1995:95:547-554; see also BJD 1995:132:983-988] and the combination of Retrovir and alpha-interferon has been reported to be useful in T cell leukemia [NEJM June 95]. Bottom line: I'd be tempted to try Retrovir and alpha-interferon.
