IONTOPHORESIS

Just "returned" from the poster session at the 3rd Internet  World
Congress on Biomedical Science from Japan(www.3iwc.riken.go.jp).One of 
four derm poster sessions dealt with use of iontophoresis tx of post acne
and post varicella scars
with tretinoin and/or estriol.I found it interesting and some encouraging
before/after
clinical photos.Having tried iontophoresis to deliver local
anesthesia(xylocaine)
with varied success,my question is-how well can these larger(?) molecules
be pushed into the skin.Also, is there a role for "phonophoresis" to
accomplish similar tasks? Any ideas from the group?
