HOME-UVB =================== From: NGUZICK@eworld.com When Kit Duncan was on the Baylor Derm faculty during my residency he developed an inexpensive home UVB unit based on use of 48 inch FS-40 UVB bulbs and an ordinary flourescent "shop light" fixture that could be mounted vertically in one's home and used in conjunction with a photography darkroom timer. I have used such an apparatus for my own mother who has psoriasis and lives too far from my office for my PUVA unit to be of help. I have another one in my own office that I have used on my daughter when she visits from college and on a few other patients for whom PUVA is not indicated. If you wish I can mail you a sketch that I have given to other patients who are handy enough to assemble and use it properly. Norman D. Guzick, M.D.
