EXFOLIATIVE DERMATITIS

Recently I had a diabetic patient with exfoliative dermatitis due to
Dilantin.  He was treated with topical and systemic steroids but continued
exfoliating for over a month, finally dying of Staph Aureus sepsis.  Can
anyone offer me some treatment alternatives for exfoliative erythroderma
(CTCL was ruled out by biopsy).  Has anyone used cyclosporine for this?

I have used PUVA with or without low dose steroids for idiopathic exfoliative
dermatitis with moderate success in three cases.
