DISSEMINATED HYPOPIGMENTED KERATOSES ----------------------------------------------------- Does anyone have any experience in treating 'disseminated hypopigmented keratoses/? I've tried retin a, retin a with efudex, liquid nitrogen. I now have the patient on 20% lactic acid in hydrophilic ointment. Steven D. Emmet, M.D. Assoc.Prof.Derm. UCSD --------------------- I recently had two patients with the same problem...very bothered from a cosmetic stand-point. They thought they had a " fungus infection ". Demonstration that the more bothersome lesions were easily scraped off was psycologically beneficial. They are now using 20% glycolic acid lotion, and will report to you about progress. Elliot Puritz MD ---------------- I wonder if these lesions are disseminated actinic porokeratoses. I have had very good results with 10% glycolic acid cream such as Aquaglycolic an otc product, begin qd. and increase as tolerated. Roger Ceilley MD ---------------- ------- 4.17.96
