INVITATION

The aim of Laser Florence 2001 is to present an International Meeting in Florence together with a series of "hands-on" Courses recognized by the most outstanding national and international professional related organizations.

A Trade Fair together with a Medical Congress will show the state of the art of Laser Technology, including optical and electronic instruments and the chemical substances used with lasers The Trade Fair is open to the public.

The topics of Trade Fair will be the uses of lasers in medicine, surgery and biology, in veterinary surgery, in art, in cleaning monuments and in detecting archaeological sites, the uses of lasers in industry and other sectors, including show business and fashion. On request of the exhibitors Conferences will organized also on these topics.

Many pioneers of laser medicine and technology will share their scientific experiences, in comparison with the different points-of-view of peoples from different countries, cultures, ages and specialities.

The 16th International Congress of Laser Medicine [Chairmen: A. Hofstetter (D), M.L. Pascu (Rom), W. Waidelich (D)], held in conjunction with our meeting, will discuss what is news about laser technology in the different sectors of medicine and surgery, encouraging its correct use, especially as regards the aspects of safety norms. All this will be conducted in a friendly way, hoping that the scientific discussion will give new positive conclusions, as the three previous Congresses of Laser Florence have consistently given.

The Courses will show the state of the art of the uses of Laser technology for diagnosis and treatment in various medical specialties, and the importance of the basis of laser physics and engineering for physicians.

Each course is limited to a maximum of fifty participants and is composed of a theoretical part and of a series of clinical cases to be treated "on the spot". The courses are followed by discussion and final tests of self/teaching and self/evaluation and are included in the Continuing Medical Education Program of the International Academy for Laser Medicine and Surgery and of the principal institutions of different Countries.

The official language is English with Italian translation (simultaneous and running.

The best instrumentation will used during the Hands-on Courses. Workshops will be organized by the manufacturers.

Attached is the first announcement of the Laser Florence 2001 meeting together with preliminary programs, list of Invited Speakers, International Scientific Board and Patronages and the registration form with the Call for Abstracts.

A dedicated travel agency is ready to organize your trip and hotel reservation at special prices.

The Abstracts of the meeting will be printed on the Internet in the "Academy Laser Journal", and the Proceedings by the SPIE. The Journal and further details of this meeting may be found in the web site www.laserflorence.org.

Laser Florence 2001 is recognized by many of the International Journals and Magazines, by all the Italian Mass Media and sponsored by the best world Institutions and Scientific Societies and professional Associations.

The event will be held in Fortezza da Basso, Viale Strozzi, Firenze, near the rail station situated downtown

Looking forward to seeing you at Laser Florence 2001, best regards
