Introducing the Portuguese Translation Team


 Dermatology Online Journal is the result of the combined efforts of many people who have joined together in an effort to produce an on-line resource for physicians in dermatology. Here is an energetic group assembled by Dr. George Leal that recently joined us as the team responsible for English-Portuguese translation of the Journal. They were asked (on short notice) to provide some biographical information, and perhaps a comment. If you view the Portuguese version of the current or immediately previous issue, you will also find their names on any of the articles they have translated.


Dr. George Barros Leal, Junior

Dr. Leal is the Managing Editor of the Portuguese translation team. He graduated in 1982 from Universidade Federal of Ceara, Brazil after sixth year of medical school mostly taken in Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami. His initial residency (mandatory pre-specialization in Dermatology) was in Pediatrics taken at IASERG Hospital, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 1983. In 1985, he was the Medical Director of Posto de Saude D. Guiomar Feitosa, Fortaleza, Brazil. He then served one year in the Brazilian Army in General Medicine and Dermatology, at Colegio Militar de Fortaleza/Hospital Geral do Exercito. In 1986 he was responsible for the Dermatolgogy ambulatory at Centro de Saude Flavio Marcilio, then he entered specialty training in dermatology at Universidade Federal de Pernambuco, from 1987 to 1988 under Professor Marcio Lobo. From 1988 to 1992 was the Attending Dermatologist at Fundacao Sao Judas Tadeu, Fortaleza. He has been in private practice of dermatology in Fortaleza,Brazil, since 1988

Dr. Joâo Pupo Nogueira Neto

He is Professor of Dermatology at FCM Pontificia Universidade Catolica de Campinas and Chairman in Dermatology Celso Pierro Hospital,Campinas SP Brasil.

Dra. Gisele Basso

Dra. Basso is Resident of Dermatology discipline at Hospital Celso Pierro, FCM PUCCAMP Campinas, Sao Paulo,Brazil.

Dr. Mauro Nemirovsky Siqueira

graduated in 1985 at XIX Class of Medical Doctors of of Faculdade de Medicina da Pontificia Universidade Catolica os Sao Paulo, Brazil. He apprenticed in dermatology at Professor Umberto Cerruti's sercice - 1993-1984 Following that, he apprenticed in dermatology at Hospital Nossa Senhora da Penha -1985 and 1986. He served as Dermatologist at Hospital Nossa Senhora da Penha - Dermatology Service from 1987 to 1989, and Dermatologist at Hospital Umberto i - Dermatology (general, pediatric and labor) from 1988 through 1994. He is a Member of Sociedade Brasileira de Dermatologia, since 1985.

Dra. Maura Bressan

She is M-1 Monitor of Dermatology discipline at FCM Pontificia Universidade Catolica de Campinas - Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Dra. Celia Riscalla

did her Residency in 1976 and 1977 at Professor Dr S A P Sampaio's Dermatology Service. She received her Specialist title with BRAZILIAN SOCIETY OF DERMATOLOGY in 1978, and has a subspecialty in Dermatologic Allergy and Occupational Dermatoses. She has served as Auxiliary Teacher at Professor Dr L H C Paschoal's Service since 1990. She has served as Member of the Directory Board of the Sao Paulo Region of the Brazilian Society of Dermatology (1986-1987, and 1991-1992).
