The Spanish Translation Team |

Dermatology Online Journal is the result of the combined efforts of many people
who have joined together in an effort to produce an on-line resource for
physicians in dermatology. Here is a group assembled by Dr. Ignacio García Doval
that recently joined us as the team responsible for English-Spanish translation
of the Journal. They were asked (on short notice) to provide some biographical
information, and perhaps a comment. If you view the spanish version of the
current or immediately previous issue, you will also find their names on any of
the articles they have translated.
Dr. García Doval is the Managing Editor of the Spanish translation team. He
graduated in Santiago de Compostela, Spain, and took his dermatology residency
in Hospital Xeral de Galicia, Santiago de Compostela, Spain. He did his doctoral
thesis in the Dermatolgy Department, University of Santiago de Compostela. He is
working in Hospital Provincial de Pontevedra, a reference hospital, being in
charge of the in-patient section. He is a Member of the Editorial Board of
Actas Dermosifiliográficas (Journal of the Spanish Academy of Dermatology) and
has a Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English.

revious issues at a click of the mouse. If we are able to get an interesting and
high-quality journal it could become one of the most widely read".
He graduated in Universidad Mayor de San Marcos, Lima, Perú and Universidad
Peruana Cayetano Heredia, Lima, Perú. He is nowadays a dermatology resident in
Hospital Nacional Daniel A. Carrión, Callao, Perú.

He graduated in the Univeridad de Santiago de Compostela, where he did his
doctoral thesis, and worked as a dermatology instructor for seven years. He also
received formation in St Johns´Hospital, London. He is the Head of the
Dermatology Department of the Hospital Provincial de Pontevedra, Spain.
After his graduation in the University of Santiago de Compostela, he took his
dermatology residency training in Hospital Xeral de Galicia, Santiago de
Compostela. He is nowadays working in that hospital.

Xeral de Galicia, Santiago, Spain.

Teacher of the University of Oviedo, Spain. Dr. Losada is working in the
Hospital Provincial de Pontevedra, Spain. He has Hospital and private practice
and is particularly interested in surgical dermatology.
She has a degree in English by the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, Spain,
and a degree by the Guildhall University of London. She works as an
English-Spanish translator, with special interest in medical translations.

She graduated in the Facultad de Medicina de Oviedo, Spain. She got her
four-year dermatology residency in the Hospital Xeral de Galicia, Santiago de
Compostela, Spain. She is working as a consultor in the Hospital de Arriondas,
Asturias, Spain.
He got his degree in Medicine (1970-76) in Santiago de Compsotela, Spain. In
1977-1980 he did his residency in pathology, and later (1980-84)in Dermatology.
He did a Fellowship in dermatopathology (UTMB Galveston). Dr. De la Torre is
working in the Hospital Provincial de Pontevedra, Spain. He is a Member of the
Spanish Academy of Dermatology, Ibero Latin American College of Dermatology and
American Academy of Dermatology. He has been a member of the Editorial Board of
Actas Dermosifiliográficas (1994-97).

In 1995 he got his doctor degree in the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, Spain. He works in a hospital (Hospital Xeral de Vigo) and has private practice (Policlínico Vigo, POVISA). "DOJ is an innovation in the field of dermatologic information that has started with a high scientific quality, and a brilliant future, considering its contents, versatility, and multilingual features. It will become an important source of information, and will probably be as prestigious as the best paper journals" |
